The Rated Room: Competitive Chess

The Rated Room is Discovery Center's premier chess program for serious players who are ready to challenge themselves and continue growing their game. Designed for intermediate to advanced players, this program goes beyond learning the rules. Students develop stronger tactical vision, strategic planning, endgame technique, and game analysis while playing challenging opponents in a focused, supportive environment. Each session includes instruction, coached games, analysis, puzzles, and opportunities to apply new skills through competitive play. Players are encouraged to think critically, learn from their games, and build confidence one move at a time. Whether your child enjoys local tournaments or simply wants to become a stronger player, The Rated Room provides a place to learn alongside other dedicated chess players who share the same passion for the game.
