Indigo Queens Chess Club

Think Like a Queen. Play with Purpose. Indigo Queens is a monthly girls' chess club where strategy, confidence, and community come together. Designed for girls who love chess—or are ready to discover it—each session challenges participants to strengthen their game while learning from the remarkable women who have shaped chess history. Every month, Indigo Queens spotlights a legendary woman chess master or world champion. Players will explore her story, study one of her most memorable games, discuss the strategic ideas behind her decisions, and apply those lessons through coaching, tactical puzzles, and friendly competition. Chess at Indigo Queens goes beyond memorizing openings. It develops patience, resilience, focus, and the confidence to think independently. Players learn that every game is an opportunity to solve problems, adapt, recover from mistakes, and grow stronger. Each gathering also includes a chess-themed make-and-take project inspired by the month's featured player or chess tradition, giving participants a meaningful keepsake to celebrate their progress and love of the game.
